The Arch Workbench of FreeCAD implements a series of tools and facilities for BIM modeling. Although it has a different purpose, it is made to work in tight integration with the rest of FreeCAD: Anything made with any other workbench of FreeCAD can become an Arch object, or be used as a base for an Arch object.
I'll post the pdf's but if anyone wants one or all LibreOffice (original) files let me know and I can post them too. Some WB's only have a few icons, so I skipped those.FreeCAD is an open source CAD/CAE tool based on OpenCASCADE. FreeCAD has tools similar to CATIA, SolidWorks or Solid Edge, so it will also provide CAX (CAD, CAM, CAE), PLM and other functions. This will be a software architecture based on parametric modeling functions and modularity, which makes it easy to provide additional functions without modifying the core. FreeCAD makes extensive use of Python. With it, you can access and control almost any feature of FreeCAD. You can, for example, create new objects, modify their geometry, analyze their contents, or even create new interface controls, tools and panels. Some workbenches of FreeCAD and most of the addon workbenches are fully programmed in Python.

The idea was to do the contrary of the wiki, where a lot of people contribute and is hard to maintain a smooth line easy to grab by newcomers. So I wanted to try to do this more or less alone, to try to keep something like 'one line of thought' which maybe will be easier to follow by someone discovering FreeCAD.The book is of course open-source and free to download, fork, etc. I'm thinking of self-publishing a paper version (for ex. on lulu.com but it'll still need a lot of revision I think), and I'll also merge it on the wiki later so it becomes part of the wiki itself and you guys can help make it better.
