For downloading embroidery designs from the Internet to use with your Brother home embroidery machine, the Brother PED-Basic comes with USB card writer, blank memory card and software compatible with Windows 98 or later.

I purchased the PED Basic because a friend purchased it for her machine so she could transfer patterns from the computer. She just loves it. My machine has that capability, but I purchased it and installed it on my computer so I had a picture of all the patterns I am downloading from the computer. Before I had the PED Basic, I could not tell what the patterns looked like after I downloaded them. Now I can browse through all my patterns and pick those I want to use for a particular project. I love it and thank you for super service and fast shipping!
